Water Damaged Vinyl Flooring
The water heater in this Pickens County home ruptured. Water traveled into four rooms and saturated the carpet and vinyl. Uncertain of what to do next, the homeowner called SERVPRO of Pickens County.
The kitchen required the most demolition. We began by removing the vinyl flooring. Water became trapped under the vinyl floor tiles, making it extremely difficult to remove the water. Vinyl floor tiles act as somewhat of a vapor barrier and does not allow evaporation to occur, which is needed to complete the drying process. Once we pulled up the flooring, we set fans and dehumidifiers throughout the home to aid in the drying process. By using fans and dehumidifiers, we mitigated the existing damage and stopped any secondary damage from occurring.
